RIM has discontinued the Playbook 16GB model, which retails for about $200 now, after price drops.
The 32GB ($249) model and 64GB ($299) model still live on. These devices were the first to run on the QNX operating system.
Blackberry 10 is poised to release near the end of the year, while RIM is expected to release their first quarterly operating loss.
RIM may be facing a takeover in the future, as many BBM users will be put in the dark if RIM shuts down. Since last June, the market share has fallen 75%. It's worth about $6 billion now, but in the beginning of the year, they were asking about $18 billion for the company.
