Annually the Mobile World Congress showcases the world’s newest in mobile devices, as suggested by the name.Executives from industry leaders such as Apple, Samsung, and ARM were present there to explain and demonstrate their newest breakthroughs and technologies.
This year’s highlights included Samsung’s flagship phone, the Galaxy SIII and demonstrations of key features such as Galaxy Beam. Nokia was also on hand to introduce their 41 megapixel PureView camera, stunning the crowd with its crystal clear quality. Orange, an European telecommunications carrier, was there to demonstrate the first phone powered by an Intel processor, originally to be thought as the Orange Santa Clara. Many Asian companies such as ZTE, Huawei, and Fujitsu also presented phones that bested many devices from the traditional players, while at a lower price. Also, many dominant leaders of this industry presented at keynotes to reveal brand new features, including the introduction of quad-core processors.
The crowds were thrilled to experience hands on previews of tablets such as the Asus Transformer Pad 300 series, as well as the IPad 3.
By the end of Mobile World Congress 2012, there was little doubt in everyone’s mind that companies would be continuing to advance at a breathtaking pace.
