ASUS has released the ASUS Transformer AiO, the
world’s first All-in-One PC with a detachable tablet. The two parts are the
desktop PC station with a 3rd gen Intel Core Processor to run
Windows 8 and the detachable 18.4-inch display with its own NVIDIA Tegra 3
quad-core processor to run Android 4.1. Switching between these operating
systems is simple, done with a push of a button.
The ASUS Transformer AiO is a powerful PC when the tablet
is docked. Along with its Intel processor, it has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M
graphics processor. It also supports USB 3.0 and has a dual-band Wi-fi
receiver.
The tablet itself is a goliath, with an 18.4-inch display.
Due to its heavy and bulky nature, the back of the tablet has a carrying handle
and a kickstand, and the battery lasts around five hours. For all the
photographers, this tablet does not have a rear-facing camera (it is impossible to take pictures with the thing anyways).
The design is quite daring and may start a new PC-tablet
craze. What do you think about this new design?
