Rogers Texting Outage

The good news keeps on coming this new year. Rogers seemed to have a text messaging outage on new years day. As of 12:21 AM EST, according to canadianoutages.com, Rogers customers were unable to send out any text messages. What a great start to the new year!

This was detrimental for the thousands of customers affected as they may have been contacting friends and family after New Year's celebrations. People who drank too much during their New Year's celebration were unable to call a friend or taxi for a lift home, possibly putting lives at risk. The others sending out mass texts to their friends were only slightly annoyed, or pleased if they’re anti-social and didn't want to receive a hoard of texts. People with mobile data were still able to use it, so not everyone was left without means of communication.
